Salmonbellies finish season with win over Victoria

On Sunday evening at Queen's Park Arena, the Jr Bellies won their 20th game of the season with a 14-6 victory over the visiting Victoria Shamrocks. Mr Mike's Offensive Player of the Game, Adam Dickson, scored 3 times, while Mr Mike's Defensive Player of the Game, Tyrell Hamer-Jackson scored once, and played superb defense throughout the contest.

The Bellies finish the season at 20-1 and enter the playoffs on a 15 game winning streak. New Westminster opens the playoffs on Wednesday night, 8:00PM against the Delta Islanders at Queen's Park Arena.

Salmonbellies beat Adanacs to finish 1st overall

Wednesday night in Coquitlam, in the most anticipated game of the year, the Salmonbellies beat the Adanacs 7-5 to clinch first place in the BC Jr A League. The Jr Bellies were led by Mr Mikes Defensive Player of the Game, Rocky Bowman and Mr Mikes OPoG, Anthony Malcom in the low scoring game. 

Next up: Victoria travels to New Westminster on Sunday, July 6 for the last regular season game of the year, starting at 5:00PM.

Bellies finish off Burnaby

The Jr Bellies welcomed new goalie Eric Penney from St Catherines on Sunday night in Burnaby and finished off the Lakers with a 12-5 victory. Penney got into the last half of the game to familiarize himself with western shooters.  Mr Mikes Offensive Player of the Game, Nathan Stewart, led the way with 3 goals, while Quinn Mackay's outstanding defensive prescence led to his Mr Mikes Defensive Player of the Game award.

Next up: the last regular season meeting with Coquitlam Adanacs, Wednesday in Coquitlam.

Rotary Night a Huge Success

Tuesday night in historic Queen's Park Arena, we celebrated Rotary Night. The Rotary Club of New Westminster was on hand to deliver a sponsorship cheque to Governor Walt Weaver and GM Jamie Stewart. The Jr A's did their part, coming away qwith a 16-9 victory over the Langley Thunder.  Mr Mikes Offensive Player of the Game, Josh Byrne, led the way with six goals, while Transition PoG, Luke Gillespie and Defensive PoG, Justin Goodwin had standout games, yet again.
