Salmonbellies sign Provincial All-Star Jesse Gillespie

The New Westminster Jr A Salmonbellies are pleased to announce that Provincial All-Star Jesse Gillespie has signed with the team. Jesse, a Maple Ridge product, is an outstanding defensive and transition player and will make an immediate impact to a strong Salmonbellie roster. Jesse is known for his character and leadership skills and is a huge addition to the Salmonbellie family.

Salmonbellies add lefthanded scorer Johnny Pearson

General Manager Jamie Stewart and the New Westminster Jr A Salmonbellies are pleased to announce the addition of Johnny Pearson in a trade with the Langley Thunder. Johnny was a dominant force for Langley last season as an underage Junior. He has played for many years on Team BC box and field lacrosse teams and is currently attending Ohio State University on a lacrosse scholarship. Welcome Johnny, to the Salmonbellies family!

In return for Johnny, New Westminster is sending Tyler Rutherford, Parker and Pearson Willis to Langley.

Salmonbellies organization changes

The New Westminster Jr A Salmonbellies are pleased to announce the following organizational changes.

Long time GM Doug Zack will assume the position of VP Lacrosse Operations with responsibilities for our three teams ( Jr A Jr B and intermediate A).

We are pleased to announce that Jamie Stewart has joined the organization as the new GM responsible for both the Jr A and the Intermediate A clubs. Jamie is well known in B.C. Lacrosse circles having served 10 years as President of the NW Minor Lacrosse Association.

During that time the association grew to become the second largest in B.C. and winning more than 40 Provincial titles during his tenure. Jamie has coached both boys and girls box and field at both the Local, Provincial and National levels as well as this past season as an assistant coach with the Sr Bellies and the BC Provincial Girls U19 team.
